What Cosmos does

An overview of Cosmos and what you can do here.

Written by Rupert Searle

A single platform for setting up and running companies

Cosmos sets up companies and keeps them running properly. Forming a company, and then meeting the obligations that follow, is work normally spread across lawyers, accountants, corporate service providers and a great deal of paperwork. Cosmos brings that work onto one platform. The platform handles the filings, documents and deadlines, and our team reviews every step before it reaches a government authority or reaches you.

The experience is meant to be simple. You tell us what you want to achieve, and you receive a formed company, the licences and accounts it needs, and a clear view of what is due and when. The complexity does not disappear. It is simply handled for you.

The problem Cosmos solves

Setting up a company sounds like a single task. It is not. A typical formation involves choosing a country, choosing a company type within it, matching your planned activities to a licence, passing know-your-customer checks, preparing the company's constitutional documents, filing with a registrar, and then arranging visas, banking and tax registration. Each of those steps has its own rules, its own timing and its own ways of going wrong.

Handled the traditional way, this means coordinating several separate advisers, repeating the same information to each of them, and hoping that nothing falls into the gaps between them. Cosmos exists to remove that coordination problem. One platform holds your information once, carries it through every step, and keeps the whole picture in view. When something is due, you hear about it from one place, in plain language.

What you can do with Cosmos

Cosmos covers the full life of a company, not only the moment it is formed.

  • Form a company. Cosmos incorporates companies across ten jurisdictions, from UAE free zones to UK and US companies, and helps you pick the structure that fits your plans.

  • Decide where to set up. If you do not yet know which country suits you, Cosmos helps you weigh the options against what the company will actually do.

  • Arrange visas and residency. Where your chosen jurisdiction allows it, Cosmos arranges residency for owners, employees and their families.

  • Open a business bank account. Cosmos matches you to suitable banks and prepares your application, so the company can actually transact.

  • Keep the company compliant. Accounting, tax, audit and payroll, along with every renewal and filing deadline, are tracked and handled.

  • Change or close the company. Share transfers, new directors, moving the company to another jurisdiction, or winding it up cleanly when its life is over.

You can come to Cosmos for a single formation, or stay with Cosmos to run the company for as long as it exists.

The jurisdictions Cosmos covers

Cosmos forms companies in ten jurisdictions: the United Arab Emirates, the United Kingdom, Singapore, the United States, Georgia, the British Virgin Islands, the Cayman Islands, Hong Kong, Saudi Arabia and Qatar. Each one suits a different purpose. Some are built for trading and employing a local team, some for holding assets and shares, and some for raising investment. Choosing where to set up explains how to think about the choice, and each jurisdiction has its own detailed guide in this help centre.

How Cosmos works: a platform, with people

Two things shape how Cosmos delivers its work.

The first is the platform. Your information is entered once and reused at every stage, so you are not asked for the same passport or the same business description five times over. The platform prepares documents, submits filings, and tracks every deadline that applies to your company. It is the engine that does the repetitive, error-prone work that humans tend to get wrong when they are tired or busy.

The second is that people stay in the loop. Every formation and every filing is reviewed by a member of the Cosmos team before it is submitted or sent to you. The platform does the heavy lifting; the team provides the judgement, the checking, and the answers to anything unusual. You are not left alone with software, and you are not waiting on a single overloaded adviser either.

Who Cosmos is

Cosmos is the trading name of Sirius Consulting FZCO, a company licensed in the United Arab Emirates under licence number 43190. When you engage Cosmos, your agreement is with Sirius Consulting FZCO, trading as Cosmos. Cosmos and Sirius Consulting are one business, not two.

What Cosmos is not

It is worth being just as clear about the limits, because knowing them protects you.

Cosmos is not a law firm. It prepares company documents and explains how they work, but it does not provide legal advice. Where you need a legal opinion, for example on a shareholders' agreement or a dispute, Cosmos will introduce you to qualified counsel.

Cosmos is not a tax adviser. It handles tax registration and filing and explains what applies to your company, but advice on how to structure your affairs to reduce tax needs a qualified tax professional, and Cosmos will introduce you to one.

Some services are regulated and must be delivered by a licensed provider. This is common in financial free zones. Where that applies, the regulated work is carried out by a licensed partner, and Cosmos will tell you plainly who is doing what. You will always know who is responsible for each part of your setup.

Who Cosmos is for

Cosmos is built for founders, entrepreneurs and small teams who want their company set up correctly and run without unpleasant surprises. That includes first-time founders who do not know where to start, experienced operators expanding into a new market, and people who simply want the administrative weight of a company taken off their desk. If you are not certain Cosmos is the right fit for your situation, the honest answer is one short conversation away.

How to begin

You do not need anything prepared to start. Begin a chat and tell us what you are trying to do. If you already know the jurisdiction and the structure you want, we move straight to a quote. If you do not, we help you decide first. Getting started with Cosmos walks through the steps from that first message to a formed company.
